A missile was accidentally released on 9th March. It was later learnt that the missile had landed inside the territory of Pakistan.. : Rajnath Singh – Defence Minister in RS

I would like to brief this august House about an incident that took place on 9th March, 2022.  This incident relates to inadvertent release of a missile during inspection

During routine maintenance and inspection, a missile was accidentally released at around 7 p.m.  It was later learnt that the missile had landed inside the territory of Pakistan. While this incident is regretted, we are relieved that nobody was hurt due to the accident

I would like to inform the august House that Government has taken serious note of the incident.  A formal high level inquiry has been ordered. The inquiry would determine the exact cause of the said accident

I would also like to state that a review of the Standard Operating Procedures for operations, maintenance and inspections is being conducted in the wake of this incident

We attach highest priority to safety and security of our weapon systems.  If any shortcoming is found, the same would be immediately rectified I can assure the House that the missile system is very reliable & safe.

Moreover, our safety procedures and protocols are of the highest order and are reviewed from time to time. Our Armed Forces are well-trained and disciplined & are well experienced in handling such systems

We were always ready to withdraw suspension had your colleagues apologised, but they were only justifying: Pralhad Joshi to Jairam Ramesh

Pralhad Joshi – Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs:

As People’s representatives, it is the duty of Parliamentarians to respect the Chair & behave in a manner worthy of their standing.

However Mr Jairam Ramesh, your colleagues chose disruption over debate.

It was unfortunate as the whole country witnessed their sheer hooliganism.

To err is human but to repeatedly justify it is foolish.

We were always ready to withdraw suspension had your colleagues apologised, but they were only justifying.

You must not lose your way while pleasing RaGa.

Do tell him about respect being commanded and not demanded.

Repeating what I said on 16.12.21 in the House—if the Govt is accommodative, then Oppn is responsive: Jairam Ramesh, MP

Joshi-avare, @LoPIndia wrote to the Chairman on 13.12.2021 that:

1. Only RS Security personnel be allowed to maintain security within House chambers/lobbies.

2. Illegal release of CCTV footage shouldn’t be allowed.

By putting out illegal footage you’re reiterating our point that what were unfamiliar Delhi police personnel doing in the lobbies that day?

Do I also need to remind you of what your leader late Arun Jaitley had said—defending disruption as a legitimate instrument of parliamentary strategy?

Further, you mustn’t lose your way spreading lies to please NaMo, who himself is the Jagadguru of Jhoot!

Repeating what I said on 16.12.21 in the House—if the Govt is accommodative, then Oppn is responsive.

The onus is on you to ensure Parliament functions!

jairam ramesh – mp, former union minister

Today in the Rajya Sabha the Chair didn’t even allow a vote on the Opposition motion to send the Electoral Roll-Aadhaar Bill to a Select Committee: Jairam Ramesh – MP, Fmr Union Minister

Jairam Ramesh – MP, Former Union Minister:

Today in the Rajya Sabha the Chair didn’t even allow a vote on the Opposition motion to send the Electoral Roll-Aadhaar Bill to a Select Committee.

The Opposition walked out in protest.

Like the farm Bills, this Bill too was passed most undemocratically!

A motion can be moved “at any time” to terminate the suspension of a member or members..: P Chidambaram

P Chidambaram – Former Union Finance Minister:

The proviso to Rule 256(2) of the Rules of Procedure of the Rajya Sabha is very clear

A motion can be moved “at any time” to terminate the suspension of a member or members

Such a motion was moved today. Why was it disallowed?

Why is the government fighting shy of voting on the motion?

Let the government defeat the motion and proclaim its scant respect for fairness and justice

My 10-second intervention in Parliament Question Hour was disrupted, but.. : Derek O’Brien – Trinamool leader

Situation in Rajya Sabha is not normal.

12 MPs have been suspended.

My 10-second intervention in Parliament Question Hour was disrupted, but the old fox found a way out.

Glad my colleagues in the Opposition appreciated this.
