I would like to brief this august House about an incident that took place on 9th March, 2022. This incident relates to inadvertent release of a missile during inspection
During routine maintenance and inspection, a missile was accidentally released at around 7 p.m. It was later learnt that the missile had landed inside the territory of Pakistan. While this incident is regretted, we are relieved that nobody was hurt due to the accident
I would like to inform the august House that Government has taken serious note of the incident. A formal high level inquiry has been ordered. The inquiry would determine the exact cause of the said accident
I would also like to state that a review of the Standard Operating Procedures for operations, maintenance and inspections is being conducted in the wake of this incident
We attach highest priority to safety and security of our weapon systems. If any shortcoming is found, the same would be immediately rectified I can assure the House that the missile system is very reliable & safe.
Moreover, our safety procedures and protocols are of the highest order and are reviewed from time to time. Our Armed Forces are well-trained and disciplined & are well experienced in handling such systems

Today in the Rajya Sabha the Chair didn’t even allow a vote on the Opposition motion to send the Electoral Roll-Aadhaar Bill to a Select Committee.
The Opposition walked out in protest.
Like the farm Bills, this Bill too was passed most undemocratically!

The proviso to Rule 256(2) of the Rules of Procedure of the Rajya Sabha is very clear
A motion can be moved “at any time” to terminate the suspension of a member or members
Such a motion was moved today. Why was it disallowed?
Why is the government fighting shy of voting on the motion?
Let the government defeat the motion and proclaim its scant respect for fairness and justice
Situation in Rajya Sabha is not normal.

My 10-second intervention in Parliament Question Hour was disrupted, but the old fox found a way out.
Glad my colleagues in the Opposition appreciated this.
It is hilarious if not tragic for Rajya Sabha Secretariat to inform me today that my Question whether the Chinese have crossed the LAC in Ladakh, cannot be allowed “ because of national interest”!!!
