In Karnataka election we should be very clear in our minds that we’re going to get no less than 150 seats: Rahul Gandhi – Fmr Congress President

Rahul Gandhi – Former Congress President:

  • Karnataka has always had the spirit of the Congress Party. The current government of the BJP is not a legitimate government. It is not a govt that was elected legitimately but a govt which was made using financial resources.

  • In Karnataka, we should not aim to win the election with a close margin. We should be very clear in our minds that we’re going to get no less than 150 seats.

  • 150 seats in the election is not difficult if we get together; if we fight together in a united way; if we fight on the right issues; If we guarantee merit as the criteria.

  • We shouldn’t be deciding tickets based on past history. It should be based on the work the person is doing for the Congress today. The party must ensure that person is protected, rewarded & gets a relevant position in the party.

  • 3 principles for Karnataka elections:

  • We should fight the election to make it a decisive victory with over 150 seats

  • We should make our decision based on merit

  • We should reward those who have worked and fought effectively

  • When we do come to power in Karnataka, we are going to use the govt in a way that defends the issues our workers fought for. We are also going to reward the Congress workers who gave their blood and tears for the party.
