  • Instead of re-starting all 2100 Sewa Kendras established by SAD govt, the AAP govt is going to destroy this novel citizen centric scheme by converting them into Mohalla Clinics, that too when the State already has 3000 functional med sub-centers & dispensaries. Terrible plan!

  • Copying an already failed model of Delhi in Punjab will prove disastrous & it will also take away investment that is needed in other core areas of health care including the super-specialty services.

  • So I urge CM Bhagwant Mann to immediately reverse this retrograde decision.

  • It’s a historic day today when the Khalsa Panth responded in one voice to the call given by religious Parliament of Sikhs – SGPC, on the direction of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, for the common cause of release of Bandi Singhs (Sikh Prisoners).

  • These Bandi Singhs have been languishing in jails far beyond their sentenced term. They are there not because of anything they do for personal gain but out of pure religious sentiments

  • With the blessings of great Guru Sahiban, Khalsa Panth today showed complete unity in the struggle for their release.

  • As a humble Sikh & mukh sevadar of Akali Dal I feel grateful to all Sikh leaders who made today’s historic Panthic Convention a reality.

  • I appeal to all panthic organisations to unite on a common platform to create a movement to ensure the release of Bandi Singhs (Sikh prisoners) who have been languishing in jails even after expiry of their life sentences.

  • We may have differences, but let us shed them aside for the cause.

  • It would be great if the SGPC President takes the lead & call a meeting of all panthic orgs to devise a joint strategy to fulfill the demand of Punjabis worldwide to free the Sikh prisoners, including Bhai Rajoana and Prof Davinder Pal Singh Bhullar, on humanitarian grounds.

  • I wholeheartedly thank Sri Akal Takht Sahib jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh Ji for taking the lead in this direction by setting the tone for panthic unity on this crucial issue which concerned the sentiments of Sikhs worldwide.

  • We assure that Akali Dal will adopt a well coordinated approach in consultation with all panthic orgs & parties as well as Singh Sabhas and the Sant Samaj.

  • This may also include leading a delegation to the Prime Minister to ensure the speedy release of the Sikh prisoners.

  • It’s most unfortunate that the release of Sikh prisoners isn’t taking place despite a national commitment made by the union government in this regard on the occasion of the 550th Parkash Purb of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji in October, 2019.

  • Bhai Rajoana isn’t being released even while the SC directed GOI to decide his mercy petition.

  • Similarly, AAP govt of Delhi is blocking the release of Prof Bhullar with the SRB delaying the matter. Arvind Kejriwal & Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann owe an explanation to the Sikh community.

  • These were the direct outcome of the utter administrative incompetence and reckless political opportunism, which have become the hallmarks of the present rulers in the state.

  • Let me remind CM Bhagwant Mann that the Punjab tragedy of 1980s/90s had been caused by the reckless opportunism of some non-Punjabi politicians trying to control Punjab from Delhi. You must be watchful that history does not repeat itself here.

  • Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and his Aam Aadmi Party team must understand that a sensitive border state like Punjab cannot afford their ambitious opportunism and adventurism.

  • While protesting against the central move to extend central civil services rules on Chandigarh UT employees during zero hour in parliament, called for ratification of the Rajiv-Longowal accord by parliament so that Chandigarh could be transferred to Punjab at the earliest.

  • This move is to dilute Punjab’s stake over Chandigarh because there was no provision of creation of any other cadre for recruitment in Chandigarh as per the Punjab Reorganization Act, 1966 & it was decided that Punjab & Haryana would have a 60:40 share in posting of employees in the UT.

  • The application of central services rules which have been applied to Chandigarh on the pattern of other UT is another attempt to weaken Punjab’s claim to Chandigarh.

  • This is also against the Rajiv–Longowal accord & is aimed at snatching Punjab’s capital from the State.

  • The recent central decision to extend central services rules to Chandigarh employees would sound the death knell for Punjabi language in the UT.

  • The parliament should ratify the accord to safeguard the rights of Punjab & its people.

  • Chandigarh is our capital & should be transferred to Punjab.

Exit polls show an unethical collusion between Satta & TV Channels. I urge EC to step in to stop this subversion of democracy with money power.

I urge Charanjit Channi to come out of nautanki mode & attend to governance at least for the remaining few hours at his disposal.

His goat milking gimmick instead attending to people’s problems till his last minute at office sums up how Cong reduced governance to a joke in Punjab.

Shocking! Our students battle grave odds in Ukraine, but Charanjit Channi has no time away from his gimmicks to help them.

Why no officers sent to help students arriving in Ukraine️’s neighbouring countries nor travel arrangements made for those arriving on their own?

SAD-BSP will revamp education & healthcare as top priority as we look confidently to form govt. We have a vision to take Punjab into the era of world class social & material infrastructure & human resource development.

What is even more shocking is that the Congress govt in Punjab did not even send Punjab officers’ names to fill the post.

Congress always conspires with Centre to surrender Punjab’s interests & later enact the drama of protest while deliberately refusing to act in time.

The old-age pension would be increased from Rs 1,500 to Rs 3,100 per month and the shagun benefit to brides from weaker sections would be increased to Rs 75,000.

We will restore all blue cards which were scrapped by the Congress govt, ensuring subsidized ration to weaker sections.

The women head of below poverty line families will get an allowance of Rs 2,000/month & all domestic consumers will get 400 units of free power per month.
