Jairam Ramesh – MP, Gen Sec., Congress:

On the evening of Gandhi Jayanthi undeterred by a downpour in Mysuru, Rahul Gandhi electrified a sea of people.

It was an unequivocal declaration.

No force can stop the Bharat Jodo Yatra from uniting India against hate, from speaking up against unemployment and price rise.

Jairam Ramesh – MP, Gen Sec., Congress:

Day 25 of Bharat Jodo Yatra is Gandhi Jayanti as well.

Today morning Rahul Gandhi is at a Khadi Cooperative in Badanavalu village near Mysuru, that started production in 1932.

The Mahatma came to this village in 1927 and in 1932 as well, and helped establish the cooperative.

I welcome the FM’s concern that under the IBC process banks are taking hefty haircuts…: P Chidambaram

P Chidambaram – Former Union Finance Minister:

I welcome the FM’s concern that under the IBC process banks are taking hefty haircuts, in some cases as much as 95%

Some days ago, I had pointed out that in 514 cases of resolution, the banks had sacrificed Rs 5.24,000 crore!

The IBC process has become a convenient cover for banks to write off large amounts lent to corporates, even while small borrowers like students are being harassed

The Committee of Creditors (CoC) is a cozy club where decisions on write-off are taken in an opaque manner

The ‘haircuts’ are a scandal. The FM should order a quick and thorough review of the IBC law and stop this bleeding of the banks
