Together, let’s take Bengal to even greater heights!
Giving a big relief to the Moong cultivators, CM Bhagwant Mann extended date of procurement of summer Moong crop on MSP till August 10th.
CM added that his govt has decided to bear the gap, upto ₹1000 per quintal, for Moong crop sold below MSP to farmers due to damaged grain.
MK Stalin, CM, Tamil Nadu:
Extremely happy that 6 more wetlands in TN (Koonthankulam Bird Sanctuary, Gulf of Mannar Marine Biosphere Reserve, Vembannur Wetland Complex, Vellode Bird Sanctuary, Vedanthangal Bird Sanctuary & Udhayamarthandapuram Bird Sanctuary) have got the Ramsar site recognition today.
This takes the Ramsar recognition tally of Tamil Nadu to 10.
This International recognition is a matter of great pride and goes hand in hand with Tamil Nadu Wetland Mission.
I congratulate TN Forest Department on this sterling achievement.

- These numbers tell the power of a vision to see innovation and drive growth, says Piyush Goyal
- Latest 10000 startups recognised in 156 days compared to initial ten thousand startups in 808 days
- 7.46 lakh jobs created by the Indian startup ecosystem
- 49% of startups are from Tier II & Tier III cities
Ministry of Commerce & Industry:
Union Minister for Commerce & Industry, Shri Piyush Goyal today announced that India has achieved a landmark milestone, wherein 75000 startups have been recognized in the country.
These numbers tell the power of a vision. A vision to see innovation & enterprise drive growth, he emphasized.
The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has recognized more than 75,000 startups- a milestone which coincides with 75th year of independence.
As India celebrates Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, the Indian startup ecosystem continues to be fuelled by innovation, enthusiasm, and entrepreneurial spirit.
During the Independence Day speech from the Red Fort on 15th August 2015, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi had envisioned a new India which taps on the entrepreneurial potential of its people.
On 16th January of the following year, the date which has now been declared as the National Startup Day, a program was initiated to lay out an action plan to build a strong ecosystem for nurturing innovation and startups in the country. 6 years hence, the action plan has successfully guided into making India the 3rd largest ecosystem.
It is also interesting to note that, while the initial ten thousand startups were recognized in 808 days, the latest ten thousand were achieved in only 156 days. With more than 80 Startups getting recognized per day- highest rate in the world, the future of the startup culture is very promising and encouraging.
Out of the total recognized startups, around 12% cater to IT services, 9% to Healthcare and Life Sciences, 7% to education, 5% to professional and commercial services and 5% to agriculture.
An impressive, 7.46 lakh jobs have been created by the Indian startup ecosystem, so far, which has been a 110% yearly increase over the last 6 years. The fact that about 49% of our startups are from Tier II & Tier III today is a validation of the tremendous potential of our country’s youth.
Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers:
- India to become Aatmanirbhar in Diammonium Phosphate (DAP)
- Mining in Senegal and Production of DAP will be done in India
- 10 LMT DAP and NPK to be manufactured
As part of the Atma Nirbhar Bharat initiative to promote self-sufficiency in Fertilisers, Government of India has been advising and supporting the Indian fertiliser companies to strengthen their backend supply chain.
Given the nation’s high dependence on raw material like rock phosphate and phosphoric acid, India plans to secure its supplies and hedge against price rises by expanding its footprint in mineral-rich countries through investments and multi-year import deals.
Towards this, Coromandel International Ltd, India’s leading phosphatic fertiliser player, today formalized the acquisition of 45% equity share in Baobab Mining and Chemicals Corporation (BMCC), a rock phosphate mining company based in Senegal. Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare and Minister of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya presided over the event wherein officials from BMCC handed over the acceptation letter from the Government of Senegal to Coromandel.
Speaking on the occasion, the Union Minister stated that “India is strengthening its raw material supply security by investing in mineral rich geographies. Government of India has been partnering with the industry to enable such investments to achieve supply security goals for meeting the country’s fertiliser needs. We are committed to ensure availability of fertilisers for our farmers and will continue to work towards ramping up domestic production and establishing partnerships with other countries”.
Dr. Mandaviya further said, “India enjoys cordial bilateral relations with Senegal, which is one of the leading suppliers of phosphoric acid to India. I hope that the investment in the rock mines in Senegal will be mutually beneficial for both the nations and will further strengthen our friendship. The mining will be done in Senegal and production of DAP will be done in India. 10 LMT of Diammonium Phosphate (DAP) and Nitrogen-Phosphorus-Potassium (NPK) will be manufactured”.
Coromandel’s Executive Vice Chairman, Shri Arun Alagappan thanked Government of India for its continuous guidance and encouragement towards establishing backward linkages for key raw materials for fertilisers. He said that “the investment in BMCC will secure up to one-third of our rock phosphate requirement, diversify our sourcing base and drive self-sufficiency in our operations. We will continue to invest towards achieving Atma Nirbhar Bharat’s vision for building supply security in phosphatic fertilisers.”

Abhishek Singhvi – MP, Congress leader:
All law has been thrown to the wind. All sense of decency, democratic values, all sense of balance, and this is reprehensible – we cannot find stronger words to condemn it.
You can try and suppress as much as you like. You’ll receive resilience and a reaction which is completely democratic, which is for the world to see. We’ll continue to expose you.
We believe that these are the actions of a frustrated political regime. we believe that these are the actions of the fact that the opponents, that us, don’t break or bent.
On the contrary, you are underlining your acts and omissions by these diversionary tactics for the whole world to see but we will never relent, whatever the cost. We will never abdicate our responsibility as a responsible opposition.
You’re treating this institution, this party, these leaders as terrorists. It is the worst form of petty politics to divert and then on the contrary you blame us.
As we have said earlier, our voices will not be silenced by these cheap tactics.
Today, you have created a seize mentality – a climate of fear. The entire country watches as investigating agencies are deployed mindlessly against the leadership of India’s oldest political party.
We are seeing an open-ended investigation for events happened 10 years ago, with a seize mentality in the heart of the capital of the world’s largest democracy.
Can we believe it?
India – the proud largest democracy in the world has a seize mentality.
I was astonished to see that people cannot come and go, there are platoons everywhere and for what?
The only sole object of this exercise is Humiliation, Insult, and Intimidation at one level and Diversion, Digression, and Sensationalism at the other.
After 50 hrs of questioning of Rahul Gandhi, after days of questioning the Congress President, more than 200 questions were put together. If the most ingenious and imaginative minds were to ask questions. There can’t be more than 10-12 questions.
Jairam Ramesh – MP, General Secretary, Congress:
Congress is under siege.
Delhi police has surrounded our HQs, and homes of INC President & ex-President.
This is the worst form of vendetta politics.
We will not submit!
We will not be silenced!
We will continue to raise our voice against injustices and failures of Modi Sarkar!

Our vision – a govt for all, which works for the poor, and brings peace & harmony.
