Within months of setting the FD target at 6.4 per cent for 2022-23, government is backsliding: P Chidambaram

P Chidambaram – Former Union Finance Minister:

Within months of setting the FD target at 6.4 per cent for 2022-23, government is backsliding

Now, Government is saying it will “try to keep the FD at 6.7 per cent”, same as the level in 2021-22

High FD, high inflation, huge FPI outflows, depreciating rupee, depletion of forex reserves — what do they point to?

Is the Indian economy in the pink of health?

Strongly condemn the offence on Rahul Gandhi’s Wayanad Office: Pinarayi Vijayan

Pinarayi Vijayan – CM, Kerala:

Strongly condemn the offence on Rahul Gandhi’s Wayanad Office

In our country everyone has the right to air their opinions and protest democratically.

However, that shouldn’t result in excess.

It is a wrong tendency. Strict action will be taken against the culprits.

Shashi Tharoor – MP, Congress leader:

Visuals of the trashing of ⁦Rahul Gandhi⁩’s Wayanad office by activists of ⁦CPIM Kerala⁩ student wing, SFI.

Would ⁦Pinarayi Vijayan⁩ & Sitaram Yechury⁩ take disciplinary action or let their silence condone such behaviour?

Is this their idea of politics?

Naveen Patnaik – CM, Odisha:

It is pleasure to be at United Nations World Food Programme headquarters in Rome and share the transformational progress of Odisha on strengthening livelihoods and food security with a specific focus on marginalised communities and women.

Over the last two decades, Odisha has been through a transformational journey in the field of food production, food security, livelihoods, disaster management, and so on.

By attaining food sufficiency, initiating large-scale development programmes designed around creating climate resilient livelihoods and nutrition, and focusing on partnerships, the state is moving consistently towards Sustainable Development Goals and inclusive development.

Thank WFP Chief David Beasley for appreciating Odisha’s transformational work in disaster management, food production and food security.

Thanks for acknowledging the success of Odisha and agreeing to collaborate with us to take forward this learning experience.

Appreciate the partnership with WFP on several fronts that have not only been effective in the state but have also been scaled up nationally.
