Six-laning of NH-140 from Chittoor to Mallavaram in Andhra Pradesh is progressing at a rapid pace: Nitin Gadkari

  • The project for Six-laning of NH-140 from Chittoor to Mallavaram in Andhra Pradesh is progressing at a rapid pace under Bharatmala Pariyojana.

  • This NH section connects important towns in Chittoor District i.e. Chittoor and Tirupati via religious place Kanipakam.

  • The project length starts at Kukkalapalli and ends at Mallavaram, consists of 2 bypasses at Kasipentla and Kanipakam, 14 grade separators, 6 Major Bridges and 15 minor bridges.

  • The project length is operational since May 2021 & Balance Works are expected to be completed by 30 Sep 2022.

  • After the completion of the project, the region would witness dynamic transformation with enhanced connectivity that would further boost economic activities & religious tourism.

Amit Shah – Union Home Minister:

  • Chaired the 25th Western Zonal Council meeting in Diu. Narendra Modi govt believes that strong states make a strong nation and zonal councils provide the platform to discuss the issues affecting one or more states or issues between the centre and states in a structured manner.

  • In the last 8 years, there has been a substantial increase in the number of Zonal Council meetings.

  • 18 zonal council meetings and 24 meetings of their respective standing committees were held as compared to 6 and 8 meetings respectively in the corresponding previous period.

  • Out of the 30 issues that were discussed in the 25th Western Zonal Council meeting, 27 issues were resolved and only 3 were retained for further discussion.

  • This reflects Modi govt’s resolve towards the all-round development of the nation in the spirit of cooperative federalism.

Khushi Choudhary moved out of a private school and took admission in a Govt. school and passed the JEE without any coaching: Arvind Kejriwal

  • when Delhi’s government schools were good, she moved out of private school and took admission in a government school and passed the JEE exam without any coaching.

Holy Relics of Lord Buddha to be taken from India to Mongolia for an 11-day exposition on occasion of Mongolia’s Buddha Purnima

Ministry of Culture:

  • In a special gesture towards people of Mongolia, four Holy Relics of Lord Buddha are being taken from India to Mongolia for an 11-day exposition as part of celebrations of Mongolian Buddh Purnima falling on 14th June, 2022.

  • A 25-member delegation, led by Minister of Law and Justice, Shri Kiren Rijiju accompanying the sacred relics will leave for Mongolia on 12th June, 2022.

  • The Holy Relics will be displayed at the Batsagaan Temple within the premises of Gandan Monastery.

  • The Holy Buddha Relics, currently housed in the National Museum, are known as the ‘Kapilvastu Relics’ since they are from a site in Bihar first discovered in 1898 which is believed to be the ancient city of Kapilvastu.

  • Briefing media persons about the visit in New Delhi today, Shri Kiren Rijiju said that it is another historic milestone in India-Mongolia relations and will further boost cultural and spiritual relations between the two countries.

  • The Relics will be accorded the status of a State Guest and will be taken in the same climate control case as it has been kept presently at the National Museum.

  • Indian Air force has made available a special airplane C-17 Globe Master to carry the holy relics. The relics will be received in Mongolia by the Culture Minister of Mongolia; Advisor to the President of Mongolia and a large number of monks among other dignitaries.

  • The Lord Buddha Relics available in Mongolia would also be displayed along with the relics from India. Two Bullet Proof casings as well as two ceremonial caskets are being carried by the Indian Delegation for both the Relics.

  • In a first ever visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Mongolia, in 2015 Shri Narendra Modi visited Gandan Monastery and also presented a Bodhi Tree Sapling to Hamba Lama. Pointing out the centuries old Buddhist ties between the two countries, Shri Narendra Modi defined India and Mongolia as Spiritual Neighbours during his address to the Mongolian Parliament.
