India likely to have double digit growth in FY 21-22: Ministry of Finance
India likely to have double digit growth in FY21-22
India’s policy focused on both Supply & demand to ensure inflation under control. In contrast, post GFC, runaway inflation manifested because of the policy focused only on demand
Global inflation stems similarly from exclusive focus on demand in contrast to India, where the focus has been on both demand and supply
Fiscal focus on capital expenditures has ensured that capital expenditures in H1-FY22 have grown at 38.3% compared to H1-FY21 and 22.3% compared to H1-FY20.
This is partly also due to contribution to investment by the private sector
Macro-economic hysteresis unlikely because formal sector (more vulnerable because its production relies both on labour & capital) has emerged stronger post-Covid. While informal sector impacted more, hysteresis is unlikely because its production primarily relies on labour.
Financial sector has emerged stronger with better asset quality, greater provision coverage as the first line of defence against impending losses from bad loans, and greater capital adequacy as the second line of defence. This is crucial for investment going forward.
Unlike 2005-10 and 2010-15, manufacturing growth in India during 2015-19 has been higher than in China. This has come from the policy focus that has reduced power costs, logistics costs and a competitive tax environment compared to peer economies.

Punjab CM Charanjit Channi is now portraying that farm loans will be waived off in conjunction with GoI: Sukhbir Singh Badal
Punjab CM Charanjit Channi has admitted that Congress govt has no intention of implementing a complete ₹90K cr farm loan waiver promised to farmers of Punjab by oath on holy Gutka Sahib.
He is resorting to trickery & treachery to squirm his way out of commitment by putting its onus on GoI.
Punjab Congress is doing a double whammy on farmers. They were tricked in 2017 by Capt Amarinder who promised to waive off their loans.
After deceiving & betraying them, now Charanjit Channi is befooling them by portraying that their loans will be waived off in conjunction with GoI.
Now it’s clear that Congress can never speak the truth, the complete farm loan waiver scheme is officially dead, and all other promises made to the people including the reduction in power tariff by ₹3 per unit will meet the same fate.

P Chidambaram, Former Finance Minister :
On the eve of the Parliament session, the Prime Minister offered to debate “any issue” On the first day and on the first item of business, the farm bills were repealed without a debate!
The Agriculture Minister’s logic to deny a debate was baffling: he said “when the Government and the Opposition agree there is no need for a debate!”

Strongly urging you to halt the proposed shifting of the Indian Human Space Flight programme of ISRO from Bengaluru to Gujarat : DK Shivakumar in his letter to PM Modi
D K Shivakumar, President- Karnataka Congress :
Sharing my letters to Hon’ PM Sri Narendra Modi & Hon’ CM of Karnataka Sri B S Bommai, regarding proposed shifting of ISRO’s Indian Human Space Flight Programme from Bengaluru to Gujarat, and the adverse impact it will have on our state Karnataka, and its pride & legacy.
Respected Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji,
Subject: Strongly urging you to halt the proposed shifting of the Indian Human Space Flight programme of ISRO from Bengaluru to Gujarat.
I hereby request you to kindly bear with me for this little intrusion in your busy schedule. As the matter is of utmost importance relating to the pride and self-respect of the people of Karnataka, I feel it is my duty and responsibility to bring that issue to your kind notice and urgent action.
As you are keenly aware, ISRO has initiated the Indian Human Space Flight programme in 2007 to develop the technology needed to launch a crew-based orbital space-craft into low-earth orbit as part of the ambitious `Gaganyaan’ project.
They are aghast and severely jolted to learn that there are attempts to shift this prestigious project – The Indian Human Space Flight programme — from Bengaluru to Gujarat.
If it happens, the people of the State will feel that the Federal Government at the Centre is ignoring, betraying and giving scant respect to the feelings of Kannadigas. It will hurt the self-respect and emotional sentiments of Kannadigas very severely. The move will have an adverse effect on consolidation of the federal system in the country. When the people of one part of the nation start feeling that they are being “betrayed”, it will have serious repercussions.
I, therefore, appeal to you to immediately use your good offices to intervene and stop this ill-conceived move to shift the Indian Human Space Flight programme from Bengaluru to Gujarat.
Hoping to hear a positive response from you at the earliest,
With respectful regards,
(D K Shivakumar)
